A bit about me…

Rebecca Kozel, MA, LPCC

Hello! My name is Rebecca. I’m so glad you’re here.

I offer individual therapy for folks who are exploring their identity, processing complex trauma, navigating difficult life transitions, or just curious about how their lived experiences shape how they move through the world.

My areas of interest within counseling include integrating and connecting with nature, working with fellow queer individuals and psychedelic therapy.

In my personal time, I make it a priority to spend time outdoors. I love skiing, trail running, hiking, rock climbing, cycling and obstacle course racing.

When I’m not in the wilderness, you’ll find me enjoying quality time with my partner and friends, attending live concerts, or brainstorming my next crafting adventure. I’m also a proud snake parent, music lover, and avid coffee enthusiast.

Who I Work With

I currently see teens and adults via telehealth. I have 14 years of experience working with children and adolescents in a variety of settings, including play therapy. I'm especially passionate about working with young and middle-aged adults as they navigate life transitions, identity exploration, and shifting responsibilities.

My Education & Experience

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The Ohio State University and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado. Before graduate school, I worked as a Mental Health Specialist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH, where I supported young clients and their families through a range of emotional and behavioral challenges. I also gained valuable perspective working in a boutique management consulting firm, which strengthened my communication and problem-solving skills. Altogether, I bring 14 years of experience in mental health, with a background in supporting children, teens, and families.

My Approach

At the heart of my work is the belief that you are the expert on your own life. I value your inner wisdom and bring a collaborative, supportive style to therapy. My approach draws from holistic, person-centered and solution-focused practices.

Curious About Working Together?

We may be a good fit if you’re seeking a therapist who is grounded, straightforward, and open in communication, even if that includes the occasional swear word. If you’re looking for a genuine, human connection with your therapist—someone who will meet you with honesty, challenge you when it’s helpful, and deeply respect your inner wisdom—this may be a space where you feel comfortable and supported.
